What to Expect on a Sunday Morning

Most visitors choose to join us for our Worship & Learning service. Here's a glimpse into what you can expect.

Teaching: We believe that God’s word is inspired, profitable for teaching, and restoring to our souls. It is our joy to hear God’s word each week, and for that reason the preaching of God’s word is central to our Sunday service.

Biblical teaching at Bethany is done by a rotation of men who are gifted in teaching, with the average sermon length being 30 minutes. An archive of sermons are available here. Recent services can be viewed on our YouTube channel.

Small Group Discussion: Following the teaching time, there is an opportunity to join in small group discussion. This allows each person to reflect on what God is revealing to them through His word and hear how God has spoken to others in the community. We believe that the Word of God is powerful, and we desire that our time looking into the Bible will result in transformation.

Music: Each week at Bethany our hearts are moved to worship God through song—especially when we reflect on God’s love and the amazing salvation that Jesus has purchased for us. During each service we sing a mixture of contemporary worship music and traditional hymns as we praise our Lord and Savior for His goodness to us.

Giving: While we do not believe that God requires tithing (giving exactly 10%), we do believe that the command for the New Testament believer is to give generously, joyfully, and regularly to support the ministry of the local church—in the foyer there are designated spaces to give. In addition, online giving is available through our website. If you are considering joining us on a Sunday morning, please know that we welcome your presence far more than your money.

Children’s Ministry/Teens: During our Worship & Learning service we have Kids’ Church for children ages three through middle school. Nursery care is also available at the same time for younger children. Teens are invited to stay in the service and participate in their own small group discussion following the teaching.

Dress: There is no dress code! Some people come in dresses or might sport a tie and a jacket, but others might be wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Come as you are!
