Global Outreach
Missions
The Gospel is the good news of Jesus—how salvation has been accomplished by His death and how hope has been offered to all people because of His resurrection. At Bethany we are deeply convicted by the importance of missions. It is our desire to see the Good News of Jesus take root in every culture around the globe. In order for this to happen, there must be people willing to devote their lives to the global cause of sharing the Gospel.
At Bethany we are humbled by the opportunity to support many men and women who are working diligently in the mission field through financial support and prayer support.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Matthew 28:18–20 (NIV)
Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child is based on the premise that a single shoebox can be powerful enough to change the life of a child.
Each year OCC collects millions of presents in the form of shoeboxes and then distributes them to children throughout the world. It may seem like a simple gift, but for many children what’s inside that small box might be the only present they ever receive. More importantly, it may be the first time they hear of God’s love and the greatest gift that He gave to the world—His Son Jesus Christ.
At Bethany Gospel Chapel it is our privilege to collect items throughout the year and to pack shoeboxes for OCC, both as individuals and as a congregation.
In addition to packing our own shoeboxes, we also serve as a relay center where neighboring churches and members of the community can drop off their own shoeboxes during OCC's annual National Collection Week—the third week of November each year.
